At Zion Church, we believe the Bible is central to our life and practice. We encourage our members to read and study the Bible regularly. You can do this with the help of a good devotion or a simple Bible reading plan. Here is a Full Bible Plan and a New Testament 5x5x5 Plan. But the most powerful way to read Scripture is the way it was intended to be read, in community. That is why we offer several Bible Study options throughout the year.

Monday Morning “In the Word” Study is held for our retired folks who want to enjoy good fellowship and a casual pace through individual books of the Bible. Contact us about times and locations.

Seasonal Studies: We offer short studies in the summer and at other times as the occasion arises. These studies might cover a book of the Bible or they might be based on a Christian book in conversation with the Bible. Whatever the subject, these studies are discussion-based and usually led by one of our lay ministers. Check the calendar for upcoming studies.

Wednesday Night Bible Seminar is designed to dive deep into a particular book, paying special attention to the context, historical setting, background, and life application of each book. This study is held through the school year from September through May on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM. Each comprehensive study covers an entire book of the Bible. We also post these seminars online at our YouTube Channel. You can access the studies here:

Current Seminar: The Gospel of John

The Gospel is John is one of the most beloved books of the whole Bible. It contains some of the most beautiful stories of Jesus’ interaction with the broken, of his miracles, and of his amazing teachings. John’s Gospel contains no parables; instead, Jesus gives long dissertations and expounds of the deep truths of God.

John offers a unique perspective than the other (Synoptic) Gospels, diving into the theological realities of Jesus’s Divinity and the Incarnation. And John gives us a deeper picture into the life and sacrificial death of Jesus, focusing on God’s love for us in Jesus and how we can enter into eternal life by faith in God’s only Son. Join us for this 29 week, designed as a quick overview of John’s Gospel. The materials here can be used as a personal study guide while you read through the Gospel in your own devotion time, or as a group guide to facilitate discussion and deeper inquiry.
